Are you looking at that guitar, bass guitar, keyboard or drum set in the corner and saying to yourself,
“I wish I had the chance to play that instrument with a band again.”
Or, maybe you consistently go to concerts or watch music award shows and think,
“I sure wish I could learn to play.....”.
Well now you can!
JukeBox Hero, rock camp provides that opportunity for adults to rekindle an old love for playing or even spark a new or hidden passion for standing on the stage under the lights and listen to the applause.
What can I expect?
Registrants will be formed into bands of similar ability and assigned a seasoned band manager who will guide them through the band formation process as they prepare to perform for a culminating showcase “battle of the bands”. During the 6 week period of the camp (one night a week for 2 hours) bands will be coached by professionals on how to play and sing. Bands will also be guided through naming the band, choosing songs, promoting the band, how to get a local gig, instrument and equipment choices, writing songs and much, much more.
What is the Goal?
These bands will be competing for the headline spot at the final showcase/battle of the bands. Besides landing all the bragging rights (and guys we know how important that is), the winning band will be awarded a 5 hour professional recording session to etch their musical memories into a well produced cd as well as win an opportunity to play a two song set between nationally headlined bands at a major concert event.
Do I already have to be able to play or sing?
The great part is, your current ability level doesn’t matter. Maybe you played pretty well at one time. Our instructors can help you get your chops back. Even if you have never touched an instrument before, these seasoned vets can have you jamming on a couple of tunes in time for you to battle with the best.
