Q. What items are allowed/not allowed?
A. Airshow Etiquette/Dos and Don?ts· Wear comfortable clothes and shoes appropriate for the weather. Much of the airshow spectator area is on grass, and we recommend comfortable, flat-bottomed shoes such as sneakers that are good for walking long distances. Prepare for the possibility of soft or muddy surfaces.
· Treat the aircraft with respect. Although many performers/static displays encourage spectators to come look at and interact with the aircraft, they can be more delicate than they appear. Treat the aircraft as if they were your own property and ask before touching. Maintain a vigilant watch on small children around aircraft at all times for their own safety as well as for the preservation of aircraft.
· No Smoking on the flight line (including e-cigarettes). Smoking is permitted in the parking areas, but please be courteous to other patrons and dispose of cigarette butts properly.
· Foreign Object Debris (FOD) is any loose debris that can pose a hazard if ingested or accelerated by an aircraft engine. FOD can cause major damage to internal and external aircraft components and can also pose a projectile hazard for spectators. Please take care to pick up after yourself, but the responsibility on preventing FOD damage falls on every participant/spectator. Trash receptacles will be located throughout the viewing area; please pick something up if you see it.
· Hearing protection is strongly recommended. Airshows are LOUD and our ears are sensitive. Although some vendors will sell earplugs, more robust hearing protection is strongly suggested for small children. See the FAQ section for more details.
· Hydrate. Dehydration is possible even on the cloudiest of days, and Texas Spring days are notoriously unpredictable. It can be cool and cloudy one minute, and hot, muggy, and sunny the next. Plan ahead and start hydrating before you leave home.
