Q. What time is the Aviation Nation?

1. Gates will be open to the public at 10 a.m. and close at 4:30 pm daily. Static display aircraft and countless military, aviation. Flying Show Completes at 3:30 pm.
   

Q. What time should I plan to arrive?

1. Early. Traffic will get more and more congested as the day progresses. We suggest that you plan to arrive early in the morning and make a day of it. Individuals that choose to start the drive to the base too late will have to deal with a lot more traffic than those that plan to arrive early.

Q. How much is admission to the Aviation Nation?

1. General admission and parking are absolutely FREE !

Q. What is the performer schedule?

1. A list of performers is listed on the Performers page. Unfortunately, the schedule is not solidified until the morning of the Aviation Nation to allow for security, safety, weather or operational concerns.

Q. Can I bring my camera/video camera/cell phone?

1. Yes. There are no security restrictions on these items. However, large camera bags are not permitted. Bring only necessary camera equipment, leaving extra attachments at home. A small fanny pack or camera vest is useful for carrying extra film and small lenses.

1. We will not turn away anyone carrying drinks or food in their hands, but backpacks and coolers with these items will not be permitted on the airfield. All items brought in are subject to approval by gate security personnel and a hand-search at the security checkpoint.

Q. Can I bring a folding chair?

1. Yes. If your folding chair is one of the types that come in a carrying-case, please leave the case in your car.

Q. I have small children. Can I bring a stroller/diaper bag/clothes change/etc.?

1. Yes. Strollers will be hand-searched at the security checkpoint. Please bring only necessary items in a small diaper bag, subject to hand-search at the security checkpoint. Large diaper bags will not be permitted.
   

Q. Can my vehicle be searched when entering Nellis Air Force Base?

1. There will be no vehicle searches as all public vehicles will be parked at the Speedway and not authorized on-base.

Q. What happens if it rains?

1. The show will go on! Aviation Nation will take place -- rain or shine both Saturday and Sunday. Aviation Nation performers have high, low and flat routines to adapt to varying weather conditions. Schedules may be altered or delayed for periods of time if heavy rainfall occurs. All display aircraft, concessions and exhibits will be open if it should happen to rain.

Q. Will I be able to purchase an Aviation Nation program?

1. Yes, volunteers will offer programs for sale that include a map of the airfield, great photographs of dozens of aircraft, and a complete history of the base.

Q. Are personal tents or awnings allowed?

1. No.

Q. Will strollers and wheelchairs be available for rental?

1. No.

Q. Are there any restrictions on bringing weapons to this event?

1. Yes. Weapons including pocket knives, multi-tools, replica/toy weapons or pepper spray are not allowed and will be confiscated.

Q. Is handicapped parking available? If so, where will they be directed for parking?

1. Yes. Handicapped will be directed to marked area - special needs busses will be provided for those who need them.Public parking is located off the installation at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Visitors entering the Speedway via I-15 at exit 54 will park in the Blue and Red Parking Lot. Visitors entering the Speedway via N. Las Vegas Bvld. will be directed to park in one of two marked parking lots.  Anyone who does not have access to Nellis AFB must use public parking.

1. No. We have safety concerns with allowing some people to ride bikes in crowded regions.

1. Unfortunately, due to security restrictions, we cannot permit RVs access to the base.

Q. Is camping or "RV"ing available on base?

1. No.
