ShrinersFest 2018 runs June 28 through July 1. The air show takes place on Saturday, June 30 & Sunday, July 1 only. Gates open daily at 9 am.
What if it rains? Is there a rain date?
The air show & reenactment will go on rain or shine, however severe weather or low clouds may hinder flying activities. ShrinersFest is a multi-day venue with no rain dates. There are no refunds, rain checks, and all sales are final.
When do I need a button?
A ShrinersFest button is required for entry after 5pm on Friday, and all day Saturday & Sunday. A button is also required for entry to all beer gardens. Thanks to our corporate partners, kids 12 & under are FREE!
Can I purchase buttons at the gate?
Yes! You can buy buttons at the gate for $10 each. Buttons can be purchased in advance at various area businesses & locations through the weeks upcoming to the festival at a discounted price. You can also purchase buttons at the Hadi Shrine Temple.
What if I have a paper ticket?
No problem! Bring your ticket with you (either printed or electronically) to any of the festival gates in exchange for a festival button! Gates will be manned Friday after 5 pm and all day Saturday & Sunday. You can also exchange your ticket for a button at the Hadi Shrine Temple located on the corner of Walnut & Riverside.
Can I bring chairs or blankets to sit on?
Yes! Folding chairs and blankets are welcomed and encouraged!
Is there an ATM on site?
Yes! ATMs are available throughout the festival.
Is my button good for only one day?
Your ShrinersFest button provides admission to the festival for the entire weekend!
Can I leave and re-enter the festival?
Yes! One may leave and re-enter the festival area with their ShrinersFest button at any time.
What time do the gates open?
Gates open daily at approximately 9 am. Check the schedule page for additional details.
Where can I find an air show schedule?
For security reasons, we are unable to provide individual performer start times. All acts are subject to change sometimes with little to no notice. View the schedule page for further information on air show times.
What should I bring to the event?
Attendees are welcome to bring collapsible or folding chairs, cameras, blankets, umbrellas (small not to block the view of others), baby strollers, diaper bags for small children, strollers, and small personal items. All items will be subject to search.
What should I NOT bring to the event?
Illegal substances, glass containers, skateboards, scooters, or personal motorized vehicles, lasers, bicycles, carts, fireworks, toy guns, water guns, helium balloons, illegal substances, non-collapsible chairs, large tents, pets (except for service animals), drones or remote control aircraft, and aerosol containers are not permitted within the event grounds. Unauthorized solicitations, handbills, sampling or giveaways, or unauthorized vending is also not allowed and will be enforced by Evansville police.
Can I bring in a cooler?
Yes, small coolers are permitted at ShrinersFest. All items will be subject to search upon entry.
Can I bring in my own adult beverages?
No. Outside alcoholic beverages will not be admitted into the festival. All consumption of alcoholic beverages must take place within officiated beer gardens (21 & older) and requires a ShrinersFest button for entry.
Can I bring my drone?
No. No drones are allowed anywhere in or near the event or within 5 nautical miles of the festival site per the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Violators face confiscation and up to a $11,000 fine. This will be strictly enforced.
Are pets allowed?
Service animals are permitted at the festival, otherwise pets are not allowed within the event grounds.
Are there activities for children?
Yes! There are various family friendly activities for children of all ages. There will be no shortage of things to see and do both in the air and on the ground.
How much is parking? Is there handicap parking?
Various free and pay parking lots are available throughout downtown Evansville within walking distance to the event site. Limited handicap parking is located on Main Street near the festival entry gate on a first come, first served basis.
Is the festival wheelchair accessible?
The majority of the downtown riverfront plaza is wheelchair accessible, however some displays and areas may be difficult to reach (i.e. grass, small inclines, etc.)
Where is lost and found?
Lost and Found is located at the Hadi Shrine Temple, located at 6 Walnut Street.
Is there first aid on site?
Yes. A first aid station is located near the Old National Bank building at Riverside & Main streets. Medical volunteers will also be roaming the event grounds and will be highly visible.
Can I watch the air show from my boat?
Yes, however the air box must be sterile during specific events such as the air show & reenactment and will be controlled extensively by the U.S. Coast Guard. In addition to having a significant presence on the river, the Coast Guard reminds patrons to exercise proper boat safety.
Is there a static display at the airport?
No. There is not a static display as part of this year's air show. There will be no general admission access to any part of the airport environment due to airport tarmac construction.
