In August 2026, the skies over Grande Prairie will once again come alive with the return of the Grande Prairie Regional Airshow. It will be the largest air show in the region, featuring even more performances, displays, and activities for the whole family.

This show is being held August 1-2, 2026, at the Grande Prairie Airport and will be hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie.

PARKING

  • Available off-site with locations and times to be announced.
  • Accessibility: Those who require accessible parking will be permitted with their accessible parking pass.
  • Parking Passes: Those who have an Airshow parking pass will be permitted to park onsite.


BUSSING SCHEDULE

  • There are three bussing pick up locations; parking at all three locations is free.
  • The locations are Northwestern Polytechnic, Grande Prairie Composite High School, and St. Joseph Catholic High School
  • Bussing schedule is 10am - 6pm. There are 30 busses between the three locations with busses circulating every 20 minutes.
  • NO, you may NOT drop your family, chairs, wagons, etc. off at the airport. All items must be carried with you.
  • There are a few select seats on busses that have hooks for a car seat.
  • No onsite parking, except:
    • Those who require accessible parking will be permitted with their accessible parking pass.
    • Those who purchased Airshow Parking Passes.

GROUNDS

  • Airshow grounds are open from 10:00am until 6:00pm. Airshow performance times to be announced at a later date.


SEATING

  • General Admission: No seating, bring a lawn chair or blanket. Umbrellas are prohibited.
  • Grande Prairie Seats: Individual seating provided near show center. Includes access to shaded seating area and nearby concessions.
  • Altitude Club: Individual seating provided with access to shade, BBQ Meal, non-alcoholic drink ticket, and access to executive restrooms. Includes access to the Captain's Lounge tent with seating and bar.

  • Children 2 and older as of the show date, are required to purchase a seat in any of the VIP sections.



ENTRY RESTRICTIONS


What to bring:

  • Bring hearing protection for younger children
  • Bring your camera, bring your lawn chair(s) and/or blankets to sit on. Children's strollers and baby carriers are find too.
  • Be prepared and bring clothes for all weather. The weather can change between the times that the gates open and end of the air show.
  • There will be food, beverages and other treats for sale on site.
  • Bring cash - there are no ATM's on site, not all vendors will be set up for card.
  • Wear sunscreen and sunglasses, take a hat, and wear comfortable shoes.
  • Take what you are prepared to carry to and from the parking lot and busses!
What NOT to bring:
  • Don't bring your pets: please leave your pets at home; they are not permitted on the air side. The high-frequency sounds that airplanes emit can hurt your pet's ears
  • Don't bring balloons: Please do not bring balloons, they are a hazard to aircraft and are not permitted air side.
  • Don't bring sunflower and other seeds, nuts, popcorn or other items birds may be enticed to eat. Increased birds airside can cause high risk to aircrafts.
  • Don't bring your hard-sided coolers, they are NOT permitted on site.
  • Don't bring alcohol, alcoholic beverages will be for sale on the airshow grounds under a controlled license.
  • Don't bring cigarettes or vape pens, no smoking is permitted on site, you will be removed.

Are backpacks and bags allowed?
- Yes, you may carry your items in bags or backpacks, but there will be bag checks at the gate.


Can we bring umbrellas or tents?
- No, umbrellas and tents are not allowed.


Are pets allowed?

- Animals are prohibited by law on airport property. Service animals must have recognized accreditation and appropriate hearing protection.


Is smoking allowed?
- Cigarettes, e-Cigarettes, Cannabis, and Vape pens are not allowed. Smoking and vaping is prohibited by law on airport property.


Are coolers allowed?
- Hard-sided/wheeled coolers are not allowed. Shouder-carried cooler bags are ok with ice packs. Loose ice will be removed to facilitate search at entry.


Outside alcohol?
- Outside alcohol is not allowed. Don't worry, we have adult beverages available onsite.


Can I fly a drone?
- The airport is a no drone zone by federal law.
