House Dance International (HDI) is the first Urban Dance Festival dedicated exclusively to the art form of House Dance. The New York based event features face-to-face dance competitions in the categories of House, Vogue Waacking, Hustle, and Experimental as well as the First Group House Battle (5x5), workshops, film screenings, discussion panels and parties.

The art form of House Dance continues to grow worldwide. HDI represents a New York-based mission to bring together the various individuals and organizations that have played a role in the creation and development of the art form. Every year, the international house dance community will meet in New York City to exchange information, compete, reflect on the art form and properly honor the roots of House Dance Culture.

Over the course of three days, HDI invites you to partake in the sixth annual event in June 2014: whether you are a dancer, choreographer, DJ, house enthusiast or spectator, your participation is welcome at all levels. HDI is a call for House Dancers to unite: to celebrate the art form, recognize its cultural impact, appreciate its history, and help navigate its future . . .

Q.Can I enter multiple categories?
A. Yes, you must pay the registration fee for each category.

Q. What are the rules?
A. Please see our Rules Page

Q. What is the Event Schedule
A. Please see our Events Page

Q. Where is the event held?
A. The Competitions, Screenings and Parties will take place at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center. The workshops will take place at Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning approximatly 2 blocks away. Please see our venue page

Q. What is parking like?
A. There is plenty of street parking around the building, much of it is metered.

Q. Does my 5 year old child need to register?
A. Children under the 12 who are accompanied by a paying adult are free.

Q. What is the handicap access like?
A. The center is equipped for handi cap access

Q. Is it all seating or standing room only?
A. There is the option of sitting or standing as we move much of the seating for ample dance space.

Q. Can I get a refund or exchange?
A.  No, unfortunately all sales are final.

Q. Do you offer any discounts?
A. We offer group discounts for purchases of 10 or more tickets.
