Event Description

Jonathan is giving a benefit concert for the Pakistan Schools of Hope.  This school educates illiterate persecuted Christian children for as little as $5 per month and they need to purchase a building in their Colony.

Bio Jonathan Cilia Faro

Jonathan was born in Sicily, in 1981, into a rather particular context, and approached music thanks to Grandpa, who gave him his first accordion.  Gianfranco Chessari was his first music teacher and Franco Giorgio his first drama teacher, and it was none other than Franco who sent Jonathan to Maestro Peppe Arezzo, who, until 1996, trained Jonathan in piano and composition and had him start singing. Jonathan became the youngest Tenor in the Pentagramma polyphonic choir, directed by Arezzo himself.

In just a few years, and in a miraculous way, this young singer, prepared by the great soprano Gianna Buniato, took flight towards northern Italy, against all logic. (R. Kelly)

I discovered that Jonathan never stops, he is so passionate about music that he sings everywhere, in any location. Not only does he want to sing, he wants to grow, to know, to study, read and learn. He enlisted in the Italian army and worked there for just under 28 months to pay for his studies. And he managed to study Psychology and Theology, all without abandoning Music. And his friends were not of his own age, but Priests, Pastors, Doctors, Philosophers and Musicians, and it's obvious that they fueled his desire to know.

He began to perform in theatres, churches and public squares. His message was not restricted to the music, but became a lifestyle. He turned down important contracts to avoid accepting their compromises. How can we blame him? He knows what he wants and he knows what he?s up against.

In those 10 years from 1996 to 2006 he had already self-produced and distributed more than 430,000 copies of his records, had self-produced 9 Albums, and all without the help of the media and the advertising industry. I call this ?NATURAL TALENT?.  What I know and can testify to about Jonathan is that his Faith is tangible; it is not religion, and it is not money. (R. Fratelli)

My dearest friends describe me in this way, I don't want to base myself today on what I've done, I want to show people what I can do using my own experiences, I have no wish to live off memories or in the past; it's easy to impress someone with what you've done, but I want to show that if there is talent, love, and respect for Music, then things happen.

In God I trust, is my philosophy of life, my Faith? none of the rest counts.

This is the new Chapter of my book, turn the pages with me to find out how it will end.

Pakistan Schools of Hope

PICTURE THIS

These illiterate Christian children are playing in the streets day after day, month after month, year after year, generation after generation.  They watch their Muslim friends walking to school, dressed in uniforms and carrying a backpack of books, wishing they could go with them to school.

NOW PICTURE THIS

A pastor in Pakistan has a dream.  He dreams big!  Someday he hopes to open a school for the poor illiterate Christian children where they can learn to read, write, and become skilled so they can overcome poverty.  He calls these children his brothers and sisters and has a deep desire in his heart not only for their future, but for their witness of the gospel to go beyond their local streets of dust to their entire colony and beyond.  This education costs $5 USD per month per student.

A DREAM COMES TRUE

On the 1st of April, 2016 God fulfilled the dream and the doors of Gethsemane Christian School opened! 42 little footsteps went through the door on the first day and within 6 weeks there were 135 students registered and attending daily. Currently the school meets on the 2ndfloor of a home and utilizes 4 bedrooms. They have 4 teachers. Their studies include: English, Urdu, Math, Bible Education, Art, Science, Computers, and Social Studies. The children are so happy because they no longer have to spend their days playing in the dusty streets.  Instead, they are learning to read and write and are breaking generations of illiteracy! Their parents are beginning to see hope for their families and praise God for those who come along side of them.

Friends of Pastor Nazir are partnering together with him to the support the school. The immediate need is to purchase a building for the K-10 grade school because leasing from a Muslim is not possible. The need is desperate as they are very crowded with up to 55 students in one room, sitting shoulder to shoulder.  Can you imagine the challenge this presents? And yet, their greatest desire is to have an education so they come. The approximate cost to purchase a suitable building in the middle of the colony is $85,000. Would you please consider helping with this endeavor by giving a donation to help buy a school for these precious children who so desperately want to learn and are so happy that they can now go to school! Your answer will come to you as you lift this opportunity before God in prayer and ask if you are chosen to help make this happen.
