VII International Festival of Russian-Speaking Children?s and Youth Theaters

June 1stat 4 pm

At the Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C.

(2650 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC 20007)

The Russian ball tradition started with Peter the Great when on November 26, 1718 he published his historic ?Order on Ballroom Assemblies.? It is symbolic therefore that Peter the Great himself will be hosting our Ball this year. Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin and a fairytale Swan Princess will assist him.

Everybody attending will have a chance to learn the basics of minuet, waltz, polka and cotillion and practice them too! The youngest of our guests will listen to Pushkin?s tales told by his nanny Arina Rodionovna.

Also on the program:
